Field notes
Lukas Rigas
Sigma Team rifleman and former private security worker displaced by Altis's tourism decline during the early Poseidon Crisis.

Overview
Lukas Rigas is a rifleman in Sigma Team, an armed opposition unit active on Altis during the opening phase of The Poseidon Crisis. He is not a former infantryman in the same sense as Andreas Markakis, but he does come from a security background that gave him basic familiarity with weapons, routine discipline, and protective work before he entered the insurgent environment.
Rigas represents a different path into the armed opposition than either career soldiers or purely civilian participants. His experience sits in the middle ground: close enough to organized force to make him useful in a small combat cell, but not enough to make him a professional soldier.
Background
Lukas Rigas was born in the Republic of Altis and Stratis and spent much of his adult life working in the private security sector. Like many men in that line of work on Altis, his employment was tied in part to the island’s tourism economy, including seasonal contracts, site protection, and low-level commercial security arrangements.
As the Altian Economic Crisis worsened and tourism declined, work in those sectors became increasingly unreliable. Businesses closed, visitor traffic dropped, and the kind of semi-stable security employment that had once sustained men like Rigas began to disappear. That economic pressure left him with useful habits, some weapons familiarity, and fewer lawful ways to stay afloat.
Although Rigas had exposure to structured security work, he did not emerge from a regular military chain of command. That distinction matters. He brings enough competence to function as a rifleman, but his outlook is shaped more by economic displacement and local frustration than by formal service identity.
Role in Sigma Team
Within Sigma Team, Rigas serves as one of the unit’s core riflemen alongside men led by Niko Lykos. In a four-man team that also includes Andreas Markakis and medic Dorian Leventis, Rigas helps fill the gap between disciplined leadership and basic manpower.
His security background makes him more comfortable with weapons and field movement than an untrained recruit would be, but he still differs from former soldiers in how he approaches risk and authority. That contrast adds texture to Sigma itself. The detachment is not simply a cluster of ex-servicemen; it is a harder local cell built from mixed backgrounds under a single controlling leader.
That internal mix is part of what makes the team readable as a group. Lykos provides control and direction, Markakis brings the habits of a former infantryman, Leventis keeps the unit medically viable, and Rigas sits between the civilian and military ends of that spectrum. His presence helps keep the group from feeling too uniform in origin.
Role in the Poseidon Crisis
By 2025, fighters like Rigas had become increasingly common within the more capable elements of the Altian Opposition Networks. Men pushed out of tourism, transport, and private security work were often young enough to fight, familiar enough with force to be recruited, and desperate enough to accept the risks attached to armed resistance.
Rigas helps illustrate how economic collapse on Altis fed directly into the manpower base of the insurgency. He is not an ideologue and not a formal veteran, but the same national decline that eroded public order also created a pool of underemployed men with enough relevant experience to make units like Sigma Team more effective.
Role in the Molos Diversion
Rigas played a visible role in the April 13, 2025 operation around Molos, when Sigma Team was used as a diversionary force to draw police and AAF personnel away from Molos Airfield. During the fighting inside town, he helped hold the safe-house position after the transformer strike and remained part of the team’s improvised defense as security forces closed in from multiple directions.
His conduct in that action is important less because it transforms him into a major strategist than because it confirms the kind of fighter he is inside Sigma’s core. Rigas is steady under pressure, useful in close defensive fighting, and willing to stay inside a plan even when the strategic purpose of that plan has not been fully explained to him. During the withdrawal, he also breaks away from the truck column to reduce the chance of pursuit reaching the others, reinforcing his role as a dependable supporting rifleman inside a very small and increasingly consequential field unit.
Profile
Lukas Rigas is a former private security worker who becomes a rifleman in Sigma Team during the early stages of the Poseidon Crisis. As a character, he reflects the way Altis’s economic collapse and tourism decline pushed security-trained but non-military men into the armed opposition, strengthening local cells without simply reproducing the background of former army personnel.
